The Capital Lacrosse Club was formed in the fall of 1996 with the consolidation of the T-Bones Lacrosse Club, which since 1985 had successfully competed in the Central Atlantic League winning several conference titles and national lacrosse tournaments. In 1997 Capital Lacrosse Club accepted an invitation to compete in the USCLA Southern Division representing the finest in lacrosse from the Washington metropolitan area.
Capital completed a very successful inaugural season with an above .500 record and qualified for the playoffs.In 2006 Capital formed a Masters team comprised mostly of former T-Bones and Capital Lacrosse Club players to compete in the Maryland Masters Lacrosse League. They went on to win the league championship in their first season. Capital Lacrosse Club is sponsored by Corona Light, The University Club, Peace Frog, Rocklands Barbeque Company, Carpool, and The Lincoln Property Company.
The stated purpose of the Capital Lacrosse Club is the development and growth of the game of lacrosse in the Washington metropolitan area. Capital Lacrosse Club players represent the best in lacrosse. The 1997 the USCLA team roster included 5 U.S. World Team tryout participants. There are two USCLA players who are current members of the U.S. World Team.
